If you wish to build an extension over or close to a local authority sewer then you may be required to gain permission from Severn Trent Water to carry out any works.  

An application form will need to be submitted to Severn Trent Water with all relevant details about the project. As part of this process, they request that a CCTV survey is carried out on these drains both prior to the works commencing and also on completion. This is to ensure that all are structurally sound, working correctly and that they are located correctly.
